America's Unofficial Ambassadors

We work at the grassroots level throughout the Muslim World to counter violent extremism before it takes hold, to promote tolerance and understanding, and to foster better relations with the United States.

Ambassadors Presenting

Last weekend, AUA Summer Service Intern Zeeshan Shad, who taught English in Zanzibar, gave a presentation on his experience abroad at a college admissions and internship seminar organized by the Aligarh Muslim University Alumni Association.  Zeeshan, pictured right at the event, got a host of questions about America’s Unofficial Ambassadors and shared his story of service. Way to go, Zeeshan!

And next week, Katarina Deshotel, who served with Rifka Annisa, a domestic violence center in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, is set to present at a Conflict Resolution class at the University of Bridgeport, a great chance to share her experience organizing data for the center.
