2014 Unofficial Ambassador, Okxana Cordova-Hoyos gave a presentation to the Eurasia and Middle East Society Club on November 6, 2014. She spoke about her time in Tajikistan volunteering at IRODA (Parents of Children with Autism Initiative) and described how individuals can make a difference in the world. The EME Society had been discussing how to battle islamaphobia and ignorance, so Okxana’s presentation and stories from Tajikistan gave practical and helpful examples for how to end stereotyping and spread tolerance.
