Explore Morocco. Navigate the streets of ancient medinas and villages nestled in the heart of the Atlas Mountains. Immerse yourself in a new culture while making a real impact.

The America’s Unofficial Ambassadors Semester of Service is a competitive, tailored academic program that offers undergraduate students the chance to intern with a school or grassroots organization in Morocco, while studying Arabic and other political science or history courses at Al-Akhawayn University and through The College of New Jersey.


10-15 hours each week (4 credit hours) of direct internship experience with locally-led initiatives in fields like environmental conservation, education and youth leadership. Follow this link for a list of potential placements.
3-4 classes for 9-12 academic credits through Al-Akhawayn University. Follow this link for a list of prospective classes.
4 hours of university level Modern Standard Arabic instruction each week
2 classes per week of academic coursework in fields like political science, international relations or Middle Eastern studies
Opportunities to explore Fez, take part in home-stays, and hike in Ifrane National Park
And 1 unique opportunity to get in touch with Morocco, its culture and its people.
