Ben Orbach in the Huffington Post: “Volunteer to Save the World, Starting at Home”

It’s been a rough week: yet another mass shooting, rampant Islamophobia, and political strife. It’s easy to feel powerless or discouraged. But tomorrow, December 5th, is the UN’S International Volunteer Day. AUA Director, Ben Orbach, has written a piece for the Huffington Post about the ways each of us can tackle these seemingly intractable challenges. Ben’s essay is a powerful reminder that we can all step up and do something – even when the obstacles seem insurmountable.  As Ben writes, “There are no limits to who can volunteer and the good that volunteers can accomplish. Every good deed, no matter how small, is significant, and micro-level deeds of service add up to a macro-level difference.”
