America's Unofficial Ambassadors

We work at the grassroots level throughout the Muslim World to counter violent extremism before it takes hold, to promote tolerance and understanding, and to foster better relations with the United States.

Our Unofficial Ambassadors to Tajikistan have arrived in Dushanbe, and they’ve hit the ground running! Our Tajikistan volunteers have spent the first week touring Dushanbe, beginning their Russian and Tajik language classes, and visiting our partner schools and NGOs, including the Bactria Cultural Centre, IRODA, ACTED, and the TCBTA. We’re so proud of the dedication, open-mindedness, and hard work that our Unofficial Ambassadors have demonstrated in these first few days!

To celebrate their first week in Tajikistan, and to officially kick-off our Summer Service Internship program, our Unofficial Ambassadors attended a beautiful reception hosted by the Serena Hotel on Saturday, June 11th. At this event, they had the incredible opportunity to meet with Ambassador Elisabeth Millard, the U.S. Ambassador to Tajikistan, and engage in dialogue about diplomacy, service, and community engagement.

Thank you to Ambassador Millard and the U.S. Embassy  in Dushanbe, Mr. Christopher Davenport, and our friends at the Serena Hotel for the ongoing support. We are excited to support our Unofficial Ambassadors throughout the summer, and we look forward to sharing and celebrating their impact.
