America's Unofficial Ambassadors

We work at the grassroots level throughout the Muslim World to counter violent extremism before it takes hold, to promote tolerance and understanding, and to foster better relations with the United States.

Overcoming Social Stigma while Volunteering in Tajikistan

Unofficial Ambassador to Tajikistan and rising junior at Arizona State University Catie Carson has been published by Pink Pangea! As a Barrets Honors College  scholar, Catie is majoring in Psychology and minoring in Mandarin and Justice Studies. This summer, she is volunteering as one of America’s Unofficial Ambassadors with IRODA, the only Autism Spectrum Disorder advocacy NGO in Tajikistan. After completing this internship, Catie hopes to continue studying human rights and social justice issues regarding mental health. We hope you enjoy what Catie has to share about how Autism is perceived in Tajikistan!
